Who are we?

Hello, my name is Kim Mayes, the heart behind Inspired Resources. The photo beside me is when my husband first became disabled in August 2015.  I have been taking care of him (and neglecting myself) ever since. One year ago today 1/3/24 –  I had my first cancer surgery due to uterine cancer and just a month later was diagnosed with breast cancer.   May thru September 2024 I had 5 more surgeries due to breast cancer and its complications including a double mastectomy.  A total of 6 surgeries in less than 9 months and finished off the last 3 months of the year with PICC line from September through the end of December 2024. 

My Journey has been shaped by my personal experiences with cancer and years of caregiving for my disabled veteran husband. I  have  and continue to overcome so many hurdles that life has thrown my way. These experiences have taught me the importance of finding strength in storms, nurturing wellness and embracing resilience with faith and determination. I want to inspire others to find their sunshine in the rain!
